In the Vedic scriptures it is said that when this planet was created it was so beautiful that even the Gods and Goddesses were attracted by its heavenly qualities. The actions motivated by the greed implanted in the heart of the human being and the forgetfulness of his original nature caused him to deteriorate his environment, turning his surrounding into a place of suffering and exploitation.
The golden Avatar
Witnessing the now most adverse condition of this planet earth and the living standards of the people, The Supreme Lord, reservoir of unlimited compassion, descended Himself in the form of The great Saint Sri Chaitanya Mahaprabhu, with an all attractive gold hue complexion. He appeared in Bengal in AD 1486 to rescue this planet transforming the hearts through the power of Pure Love. This message of Transcendental Love was distributed to all, independent of any type of birth, whether human or non-human, gender, cast or religiosity.
Teachings
To accomplish this mission, He was assisted by associates themselves endowed with unlimited compassion and desire to save the lost souls. They received the instruction to spread this message of love and hope throughout the whole world, bringing us awareness on our true identity and on the laws that govern this world, reconnecting us to our real selves as souls, freeing us from the bondages of this world thus allowing us to regain our original state, our home. This message tells us who is God, who we are in relation to Him, and how our desires influences our present situation as well as our future situation, giving us directions to lead a successful life.
Today
The doctrine of Mahaprabhu was carried down through disciplic succession until Srila Bhakti Ballabh Tirtha Goswami Maharaja, one of the greatest Saints of this century. Just as His preceding teachers, He was a reservoir of loving compassion. He dedicated every moment of His life to The Supreme Lord. He took wholeheartedly the mission to widely propagate the message of The Golden Avatar, first in India and in the later span of His life in the Western countries as well. As such, He is understood by all who approached Him as a direct manifestation of the mercy of The Divine Couple. The proper understanding and practice of His teachings are the door to eternal peace and well-being, eternal happiness, eternal Divine Pure love.
